Agony + Ecstasy present an exclusive and limited edition collection of artworks in collaboration with late rock photographer Mick Rock and British pop artist Hannah Shillito.
The exhibition showcases ten original artworks of the most iconic and recognisable portraits photographed by Rock during the 1970s to early noughties including David Bowie, Blondie, Iggy Pop, Tina Turner, Lady Gaga, Kate Moss and Lou Reed.
The gallery will be partnering with Paradiso Art Hotel, Lomography and Pikes to celebrate the launch of the collection on the 8th of August in Ibiza.

Hannah Shillito is an emerging and groundbreaking British contemporary artist who has attracted instant industry and celebrity recognition as well as avid art collectors from around the globe. Her aesthetic orbits around tongue in cheek brightly hued pop art screenprints of her muses including David Bowie, Blondie, Cher and Prince. Her works are defined by maximalism and the joy of colour. Attention grabbing, honest and playful, Shillito’s art emanates pleasure and positivity through her artworks.
Mick Rock was often dubbed “The Man Who Shot The Seventies,” but more accurately, he was “The Man Who Shot The Last Five Decades of Rock Music, Personalities and Culture.” Throughout his legendary career, it was Mick’s unique access to his subjects which allowed him to capture not only the iconic, but the intimate and highly personal essence of each one. His photographs both captured and enhanced the quiet genius of Syd Barrett, the beginnings of stardom for Queen, much of the life span of Ziggy Stardust, the rawness of Iggy Pop, and the musical transformation of Lou Reed.

Agony + Ecstasy launches The Ibiza Tube Map (2024 Edition) created by gallery founder, Emma Salahi. A labour of love, the Tube Map encapsulates the marriage between London and Ibiza, a concept and idea which is intrinsic to Salahi´s inspiration and vision for the gallery.
The map is made up of 9 lines and visualises a fictionalised network transport system for the island, with various stops ´suspended´, ferry lines, bus stops and inside resident jokes finished with a glittery gold Disco Line.
This exclusive print is a Limited Edition of 3 with one Artist’s Proof, gicleè print on Hahnmuehle paper, screen-printed with gold sparkly ink. Signed and numbered by the artist.

The gallery is thrilled to partner with Atzaró Agroturisimo during the months of July and August to showcase an eclectic and multifaceted collection of works, exclusively produced originals, limited editions and sculpture from a plethora of groundbreaking and prolific artists.
The exhibition is an exploration of Pop Art meets Ibiza. Stereotypically the genre of Pop Art is orientated towards, and prosperous in, major cities such as London and New York, whereas Ibiza has been untouched and un-championed. Agony + Ecstasy aims to be at the forefront of Pop Art, photography and innovative new artworks on the island, reimagining the idea of typical Ibicenco and bohemian interior design.

Agony + Ecstasy Gallery is thrilled to announce a special collaboration with newly opened Palm-spring inspired hotel Los Felices by Concept Hotel Group Founder Diego Calvo.
As part of Los Felices contribution to the history of Ibiza, the gallery was asked to contribute unpublished photographs of Paula´s Boutique Founders Armin Heinemann and Stuart Rudnick by Oriol Maspons.
You can find the photographs in the reception of the hotel and in the villa dedicated to Paula´s Boutique.

Agony + Ecstasy is delighted to launch the ORIOL MASPONS IBIZA book, produced and edited by the gallery's founder, Emma Salahi, and in association with British publisher, IDEA.
The book is the most amazingly free, liberated, sun drenched, dressed up and undressed, beach / party / disco book in the world already! Oriol Maspons – now, sadly no longer with us – was one of the great Spanish photographers of the twentieth century. As per the Museu Nacional D’art De Catalunya, “Oriol Maspons played a crucial role in the renewal of photographic language in Spain in the 1950s and 1960s.” And, as per IDEA in this press release, “Oriol Maspons took hundreds and hundreds of the best early Ibiza photos you have ever seen.” Maspons worked in many fields: reportage, portraiture, fashion and advertising but, when he was not working, when he was, as he was, in Ibiza every summer from the late 1960s to late 1980s, he took pictures for pleasure. Of pleasure for pleasure. And – oh, wow – are they good!
In tandem with the book, the gallery also represents the acclaimed Spanish photographer’s unpublished Ibiza archive with photographs carefully curated by Salahi, working closely with Maspons’ son, Alex. Retailed as exclusive, limited edition prints, the images span from the early 1950s to the late 1980s.
The book was launched with a spectacular party at London’s Dover Street Market´s Rose Bakery with Phil Mison DJing and an after party at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) with the first edition of the book sold out in just over a week receiving high praise in reviews from publications including The Guardian, DAZED, Diario de Ibiza, VOGUE FRANCE, PERFECT Magazine and LÓfficiel.
Shortly after, the book was launched on Sant Jordi Day (Spain’s National Book and Valentine´s Day) in Barcelona at Terranova Book Shop.
in Ibiza Agony + Ecstasy hosted a launch event for the second edition at Finca La Plaza hosted by Alex Maspons, Emma Salahi and Paula´s Boutique Founders Armin Heineman and Stuart Rudnick, with Ben Santiago DJing and Ibika Tequila sponsoring the event.

FIRST COMMISSIONED PRINT | EVENT

The gallery´s first commissioned print, ´Ibizawood´ (limited edition of 100), was a play on the Hollywood sign recreated by Atom Gallery Founder and artist, London’s Richard Pendry.
Pendry had previously produced a collection of signs including Norwich, Brighton and Stoke Newington – and subsequently ‘Ibizawood’ was born. The print is a giclée and is one of the gallery´s signature pieces emulating the bold typography of Ibiza as the infamous Hollywood sign in Los Angeles.

Launched by Emma Salahi in the summer of 2022 in Ibiza when a friend suggested she start her own art gallery in the midst of feeling directionless having relocated from London.
"I had sort of caught what the residents like to call 'The Ibiza Disease' and was feeling quite useless (and hungover). My friend looked around my apartment – at all of the crazy artwork l'd brought over from London, accumulated over years of collecting from Nelly Duff and Jealous. After her suggestion, the seed was planted and I began creating the gallery (originally named The Agony and The Ecstasy after the drum and bass album by High Contrast) with the ethos and mindset that Ibiza was in fact missing quite a cool, pop arty gallery."
