One of the most iconic and famous photographs taken by Oriol Maspons which features the photographers dear friend Jan with her baby boy named Zoltan at a party in Dalt Vila Zoltan now resides in New Zealand and his mother passed away sadly in 2025.

In the summer of 1954 Oriol Maspons travelled to Ibiza for the first time and captured an island yet to be discovered. Equipped with a Hasselblad camera he shot the dusty streets of Dalt Vila, doñas in doorways and children playing in the streets, for the first decade he discovered the island. 

Hailing from Catalunya Barcelona, Maspons spent the golden ages of the 1950s to 1980s as a photojournalist. He would go on to work as a correspondent for the magazine Arte Fotográfico and exhibiting his work in Madrid and Barcelona, and now Ibiza.
